Sustainable Informatics and Mobile Learning

In today's world mobile devices are an integral part of our lives. Global mobile usage is sky high, yet mobile Learning often leaves much to be desired. It is a learning based on mobility through devices like smartphones, iPads, other tablets, and wearable technology.

Sustainability informatics focused on the role of information sciences in enabling human society to optimize our environmental resources using methods from engineering, mathematics and computer science. Research to focus on Mobility management systems on smartphones, Data Center and Network- Utilization and Cooling, Server consolidation, Energy-aware resource allocation, Artificial Intelligence applications in energy network and the Integration of renewable energy to cloud computing. Sustainability in information systems should aim for the reduction of consumption of resources with the infrastructure, mainly caused by the lifecycle of information technology.

Learning environments have changed significantly in the past few decades due to the inclusion of emerging informatics and communication technology process. Sustainable informatics concept outlines methodologies for making sustainable improvements (personal, social, economic, technical, and environmental) to mobile learning community by applying elements of life cycle thinking and it builds on the work of eco-design to include economic and social concerns, and its methodology includes both incremental and radical innovation. However, using and disposal those of innovations in the informatics and mobile learning should be minimizing the damage to the environment. In other words, methods, process, and application of products of informatics and pedagogic innovation technologies in a way that does not harm the environment especially for human being.

The advance in the research of Sustainable Informatics and Mobile Learning opens the doors towards conceptualization of new sustainable infrastructure aimed at developing and deploying technical and pedagogic innovation. Research to focus on person-centred model of sustainability for mobile learning that integrates multiple factors, including pedagogy, an explicit view of the role of leadership and sustainability.
